What Happens After I Join?

Joining Legio XIIII GMV Cohort II is just the beginning of your journey into the ancient world and reenacting as a whole. Once you officially join, you’ll be given an experienced mentor that is close to where you live. They will help guide you through everything from Roman history, and drill, to building your kit and preparing for events. New members spend their first year as probationary members, giving you time to learn at your own pace, ask questions, build your kit, and discover which aspects of the hobby interests them most. Whether your goal is to become a legionary, portray a civilian, assist with research, or simply enjoy the camaraderie of like minded history enthusiasts, you’ll find a welcoming community ready to help you succeed. We provide some loaner equipment whenever possible, encourage participation at your comfort level and believe that every member contributes to keeping history alive. Before long, you’ll be standing in formation, sharing stories around the camp fire, and helping educate the public about life in the Roman world nearly two thousand years ago.
